1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Bean (the "App"), you agree to these Terms & Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) and able to enter a binding contract.

3. Account Registration

• To use the App you must provide a valid email address and a display name.
• Bean uses password-less sign-in (e.g., magic links or third-party authentication). You are responsible for keeping your email account secure.
• You agree that all registration information is accurate and kept up to date.

4. Permissions & Data Use

You may withdraw any permission in device settings; some functions may then be limited.

6. User Content

You retain ownership of any text or images you provide ("User Content") and grant Bean a non-exclusive licence to use it only to operate and improve the App. You are responsible for ensuring your content is lawful and non-infringing.

7. Intellectual Property

The App, its code, design, and branding are owned by Bean or its licensors. You receive a limited, revocable, non-transferable licence to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes.

8. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

1. Reverse-engineer, decompile, or resell the App.
2. Use the App to post unlawful, harmful, or infringing content.
3. Interfere with servers, networks, or security features.

9. Disclaimers

The App is provided "as is" and "as available." We make no warranties that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that recipes will meet specific dietary needs. Always verify ingredients for allergies or medical conditions.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bean and its affiliates are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of the App.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Bean harmless from any claims resulting from your breach of these Terms or misuse of the App.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access at any time for violation of these Terms. You may stop using the App and delete it from your device at any time. All sections that by nature should survive termination (e.g., Intellectual Property, Limitation of Liability) will survive.

13. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Nova Scotia, Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be resolved exclusively in the courts of Nova Scotia.

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms occasionally. Material changes will be announced in-app or by email at least 7 days before they take effect. Continued use of the App after the effective date means you accept the revised Terms.
